The Montessori Atlas
Materials guide
This is a short, hand-checked guide, not an open directory. The Atlas does not sell materials and takes no commission on anything you buy, and no supplier pays to appear here. For prepared environments — the shelves, the beads, the movable alphabet, the furniture a classroom or a home is built from — these are places worth knowing.
A curated marketplace
The Shared Environment
A peer-reviewed marketplace built for Montessori guides, teachers, and families. It gathers materials and furnishings from makers and sellers across the field into one place, with every product reviewed by trained Montessorians for quality and alignment. Because it carries so many makers, it is, in effect, materials from nearly everywhere — without asking you to vet each workshop yourself.
Founded by Staci Hedlund, a trained Montessori guide, with her son Alexander — mother and son working side by side, in the tradition of Maria and Mario.
Visit The Shared Environment ↗This guide is small on purpose — every entry is one we'd vouch for, and it grows slowly. It is not a ranking, and it is not the only place to buy Montessori materials. Make or sell Montessori materials and think the field should know? Tell us — suggestions reach a person, not an auction.
